Doris Hove, age 88, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 6th, at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12th, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Joel Kangas officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Free Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Doris Elaine (Rinkenberger) Hove was born November 1, 1930 at Hazel, Minnesota to parents William and Rose (Wenger) Rinkenberger. She was the 6th of 9 children and attended schools at Hazel and St. Hilaire until the family moved to Fosston in 1941. Early employment included Bratland's Café in Fosston, Lundmark's Café in Bagley, and Francin's Variety Store in Fosston. Later in her life, she worked part-time in the cafeteria at the elementary school in Fosston. Doris was united in marriage to Raymond Orlando Hove on July 12, 1953 in Fosston. They lived in Brandsvold Township and were engaged in farming until their retirement in 1990. Doris was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Fosston where she was active in the Women's Missionary Federation as well as teaching Friday school. Doris enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, canning, reading and keeping up her large yard and flower gardens. She sold many dozen eggs and sweet corn to the local community. Although not a frequent traveler, she did enjoy a couple of special trips including Hawaii and Norway. Doris passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston at the age of 88 years. Survivors include three daughters, Jean (David) Landsverk of Fosston, Karen (Randy) Nesvold of Lengby, MN, and Susan (William, Jr.) Lindquist of Kelliher, MN; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two more great grandchildren on the way. Also surviving are two brothers, Roger (Janis) Rinkenberger and Darrell (Norma) Rinkenberger of Fosston; two sisters, Pearl Birkeland of Fosston and Lorraine Jensen of Alexandria, MN; and sister-in-law, Thelma Rinkenberger of Fosston. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1995; her parents; sisters, Beulah "Mae" Anderson and Eleanor Paulson; brothers, Harvey "Jack" Rinkenberger and Archie "Bud" Rinkenberger; brothers-in-law, Andie Anderson, Kenneth Birkeland, Richard Jensen and Curtis Paulson; and sister-in-law, Doris Rinkenberger.
