Doris Evje

Doris Evje, age 88, of Gully, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 25th at Essentia Hospital in Fosston, MN. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 30th at 2:00 PM at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail, MN with Lay Minister Dawn Hanson officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral at the church. Interment will be at Sand Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Trail, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com. Doris Auretta Moy was born on November 28, 1923 in Trail, MN to parents John and Hazel (Anderson) Moy. She was baptized and confirmed at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail. She attended grade school in Trail and graduated from Gonvick High School in 1941. Doris married Lester Evje on November 6, 1947 and together they raised 6 children. Doris and Lester farmed in Eden Township until Lester's death on June 18, 1995. Doris remained on the farm until her death. Doris was an active member in her community - as David said "you name it - she was in it!" She was devoted to her church in Trail, the Trail VFW Auxiliary, she wrote the Trail News for many years, served as treasurer of Eden Township for 42 years, and she was an active member of the Trail Community Club and Sons of Norway. She had many interests; baseball (The Trail Turtles and the Twins), dancing, crossword puzzles, traveling, and placing a name in the family tree whether it was her tree or someone else's tree. Let's not forget her interest in Lester; she always thought he was so cute. They were good friends. You could always count on her for a friendly greeting and her attendance at any function, family or friend's. On Wednesday, April 25, 2012 Doris passed away at Essentia Hospital in Fosston, MN at the age of 88 years. Doris is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Robert) Danielson of Bagley, MN, her sons Dean of Fosston, MN, David and Darren of Gully, MN, her grandchildren, Kara (Jake) Perry of Deer River, MN, Megan (Steve) Clark of Stanley, ND, Caitlin Evje of Lithia Springs, GA, four great grandchildren, Madison and Abigail Clark; and Devin and Lexi Perry, brother, Donavon Moy of Gully, MN, sisters-in-law, Delores Bertram of Ashby, MN, Lorraine Foster of Cameron Park, CA and Donna Moy of Fosston, MN. Many friends and other relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, sons, Douglas and Daryl, parents, John and Hazel Moy, and brothers, Ordell and Gary Moy.
