Doris Erickson, age 92, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Friday (May 16th) at the Minnesota Veteran's Home in Fergus Falls, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (May 23rd) at Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Alan Arneson and Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday (May 22nd) at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church in Fosston. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Calvary Free Lutheran Church of Fosston.Doris Lillian Erickson was born on December 11, l921, at Fosston, MN, to parents David and Laura (Swenson) Wiberg. She attended country school through the 8th grade and then graduated from Fosston High School. Doris married Jessen Cudrio June 19, 1941. Jessen passed away in June 1945. She married Oscar Erickson on October 6, 1947. Oscar passed away in January 1986.Doris was employed as a cook at the Fosston hospital for several years and then she and Oscar owned and operated the Biwabik Motel in Biwabik, MN. She was an excellent cook and loved to prepare feasts for family gatherings. In her later years she lived for 8 years with her daughter Luanne in Crookston, MN. She moved to the Minnesota Veterans Home in August of 2011 where she had resided for the past 34 months. She died there with family at her side, in Fergus Falls.Doris is survived by her sister, Arlene Watland; son, Gary (Cynthia) Erickson of Dalton, MN and three daughters, Lylas (Ken) Nelson of Westminster, CO., Lynda (John) Loiland of Fosston, MN and Luanne (Lenny) Devos of Crookston, MN; eight grandchildren, Wendy Stephens, Randy (Denise) Erickson, Rebecca (Steve) Lacey, Meredith (Todd) Griffith, Diana (Johnny) Adams, Gary (Kelly) Loiland, Shannon Loiland, Lindsey Devos; and thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; siblings; Idella Bright and Gerald Wiberg; grandson-in-law Steve Stephens; and great-grandson Luke Stephens. Doris Lillian Erickson went home to glory on May 16, 2014. Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandma Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
