Doris Bratager, age 87, of Fosston and formerly of Winger, MN passed away on Thursday (January 10th) at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (January 14th) at Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday (January 13th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. Family will also greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Doris Johanna Mitchell was born on July 11, 1925 in Crookston, Minnesota to parents Skyler and Della (Larson) Mitchell. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended country school. She was married to Maynard Skeie and he passed away at a young age. In 1972, she married Kenneth Bratager in Winger. Kenneth and Doris lived near Winger for many years before moving to Fosston in recent years. She was dedicated member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger and was active in Ladies Aid and Sunday School. She was also a member of the Winger American Legion Auxiliary and had been a Girl Scout leader.Doris was a hard worker; she was a good cook and baker, loved polka (especially with her sister Betty), gardening and going for rides. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Kenneth of Fosston; one son, Calvin (Donna) Skeie of McIntosh, MN; two daughters, Patti Broden of Mentor, MN, and Wanda (Bryan) Johnson of Fosston; one brother, Joe (Dorothy) Sandberg of Erskine; brothers-in-law, Boyd (Sylvia) Bratager of Erskine, Arnold (Barbara) Skeie of Green Valley, AZ, and Donald Borgmann of Alexandria, MN; sisters-in-law, Shirley Salveson of Moorhead, MN, Charlotte Bonde of St. Paul, MN, and Colleen (Orval) Aakhus of Green Valley, AZ.Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Kristi Skeie of McIntosh, Anita (Dean) Roy of McIntosh, Ryan Broden of Fertile, MN, Aaron (Greta) Broden of Fertile, Sommar (Ryan) Kemnitz of East Grand Forks, MN, Tami (Morgan) Buetow-Staples of St. Paul, and Jennifer (Joshua) Wahlin of McGregor, MN; nine great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Maynard; her parents; sisters, Betty Ashling and Eleanore Mitchell; half sister, Clarice Benson; and half brother, Orvin Sandberg.Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren
