Donna Sveningson

Donna Sveningson, age 77, of Mentor, MN, passed away on Saturday (December 27th) at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (December 31st) at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Mentor. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday (December 30th) and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, all at Faith Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Donna Mae Hoel was born on March 8, 1931 in Erskine, Minnesota to parents Adolph and Myrtle (Anderson) Hoel. She lived in Erskine and later moved to the Mentor area. Donna was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor by Rev. Skogerboe and graduated from Mentor Public School. She was united in marriage to Daniel Sveningson on July 12, 1953 at Faith Lutheran Church. Reverend Skogerboe performed the ceremony. After their marriage, they lived in the Mentor area. Donna has always been actively involved in church work as a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Broderheim Cemetery Board and Treasurer of Faith Lutheran Cemetery for several years. Donna enjoyed the time that she spent with friends at the Senior Center in Mentor. She was a very giving person and would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She especially enjoyed the time that she could spend with her family.Donna passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota with her family at her side at the age of 77 years, nine months and 19 days.Survivors include two sons, Mark of West Frankfort, IL, and Orval (Teddy) of Mentor; two daughters, Mary (John) Tvedt of Mentor, and Joyce (Dean) Cooley of Santa Rosa, CA; six grandchildren, Jonathan Tvedt, Danielle and Allison Cooley, Amanda Nelson, Andrea Vold, and Henry Vold; and great grandchildren; and one brother, Fred (Ramona) Hoel of Redwood Valley, CA. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; daughter, Kathy; and her parents.Honorary Pallbearers will be the Tuesday Senior Citizen's Group.Active Pallbearers will be Reggie Galland, Bruce Galland, Steve Sveningson, Dennis Hoel, James Hoel, Gordy Erickson, and Gordon Hoel.
