Donald Jon Worshek, age 67, of Parker, AZ, passed away in his home on Saturday, November 20th. A gathering for a Celebration of Life will be held at Foxes Floating Bar in Parker, AZ on December 4th from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11th, at St. Mary’s Cathiolic Church in Fosston, MN with Fr. JohnMelkies Suvakeen officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The service will be recorded and available for viewing after the service on the Carlin website. Donny was born to George and Betty (Milleon) Worshek on July 3rd, 1954, in Jackson, MN He was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepard Catholic Church. He went to a country school at Robertson Schoolhouse in Des Moines township for grades 1-4. He was proud to be in the top 3 of his class though there were only 3 students. Donny enjoyed wrestling during his high school years and graduated from the Jackson High School in 1972. After graduating, he worked for Shepman Construction in Heron Lake, MN. He moved to Parker, AZ around 1980 where he worked on the Parker Strip along the Colorado River in many roles in the bar, restaurant and entertainment industry. Some of the establishments along the strip included the Sundance Saloon, Foxes Floating Bar, Road Runners Floating Dock Bar and the Blue Water Casino. Donny set the bar for entertainment and had many good friends. He enjoyed playing cards and was a fan of NASCAR, Yankees, Twins, and the Vikings.
Donny enjoyed time with family in Minnesota during the summer months and had a lot of great stories to share. He was very proud of his son, Will, and daughter, Shannon, and their families and felt very blessed to have enjoyed time with them.
Donny is survived by his children, Will (Laura) Guse of Lake Forest, CA, Shannon (Adam) Sauer of Sioux Falls, SD, grandchildren, McKayla (Grant) Sands, Ashlee Hausmann, Griffin Hausmann,Tyson Sauer, and great-grandson, Lucien Sands, sister, Nancy Worshek, brothers, Jim (Connie) Worshek, Bob Worshek, Mark Worshek and Brad Worshek, along with many amazing nieces and a nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Worshek, Betty Worshek, and sister, Barb Wickham.
Donny was a gentleman with a big heart and will be incredibly missed.
