Don Moy

Don Moy, age 69 from Gully, MN passed away on Friday, April 25th at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston, MN. A graveside memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with arrangements. Donavon Lee Moy was born on October 4, 1944 to parents John and Hazel (Anderson) Moy in Trail, Minnesota. Don was baptized and confirmed at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail. He attended grade school in Trail and graduated from Gonvick High School in 1962. As a young man, Don worked for his dad at Moys Standard in Trail, eventually becoming manager. In later years, he worked construction in Denver and then returned home and became a handyman in the area. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a Yankee fan and tolerated the Twins. He lived for several years with cancer and took many treatments without complaint. Due to ill health he spent his last years living between his home in Gully, MN and at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh, MN. On Friday, April 25, 2014 Don passed away at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston, MN at the age of 69 years. He is survived by two sons, Cory (Debbie) Moy of Gonvick, MN and Jeremy (Connie) Moy of Milaca, MN; and three granddaughters; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Doris Evje; and two brothers, Ordell and Gary.
