Diane Olson

Diane Olson, age 63, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Tuesday (December 28th) at her home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday (January 3rd) at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday (January 2nd) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Diane Phyllis Nelson was born on March 19, 1947 in Duluth, Minnesota to parents Elmore and Thelma (Halvorson) Nelson. She grew up near Plummer on the family mink farm until the third grade when they moved to Sand Hill Lake near Fosston. She graduated from Fosston High School in the class of 1965. Diane was married to Merlin Olson on October 23, 1966. They had four children, Jeff, Mike, Scott and Teresa. Diane worked various jobs throughout the community of Fosston including the Fosston Hospital and retired from Stenberg Welding. She was married to Rod Olson on July 30, 1983.She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. She loved quilting and knitting. She knit hats and mittens for her grandkids and Christmas stockings for her whole family. Diane especially enjoyed Holidays with her family. Diane is survived by her husband, Rod of Fosston; four children, Jeff of Fosston, Mike (Tina) of Fosston, Scott (Becky) of Bejou, MN, and Teresa (Carey) Sannes of Plummer, MN; ten grandchildren, Cody, Savannah, Blake, Lane, Cole, Alyssa, Samuel, William, Avery Diane, and Lukas; and one great granddaughter, Ava. Cousins and other family also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents.
