Delton Anderson

Delton Anderson, age 65, of rural Erskine, MN, passed away on Friday, March 18th, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22nd, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Rodnes Lutheran Cemetery, rural Erskine. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Monday, March 21st and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. All visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. Military honors will be provided by the Vanderwaal-Lusty American Legion Post #421 of Mentor, MN, Bailey-Throne American Legion Post #596 of Erskine and the National Guard Honors Team. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Delton William Anderson was born on August 23, 1950 in Crookston, Minnesota to parents William and Doris Strand Anderson. At the age of five, he moved with his family to the farm in Woodside Township, rural Erskine, Minnesota. He graduated from Erskine High School in 1969.Following high school, Delton entered the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He received his honorable discharge on May 1, 1976 and returned home where he farmed and did some carpentry work.Delton was united in marriage to Carole Fuglseth on April 4, 1981. They lived in Mentor, Minnesota before moving back to the home farm in 1998. He worked for D & B Construction, continued his carpentry work and most recently at Saga Well Drilling until he retired due to health reasons. He was also a dedicated member of the Mentor Fire and Rescue Department for 23 years.Delton loved his farm; hunting, fishing, riding four-wheeler at the farm and being outdoors. Most of all, he loved the time that he spent with his family and friends. Delton passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at his home in Woodside Township with his family at his side at the age of 65 years.Survivors include his wife, Carole of Erskine; one sister, Terry (Dale) Hickman of Erskine; five children, Shanel (Bryan) Benson of Mentor, Kimberly Clancy of Red Wing, MN, Darcee Deiss of Glenwood City, WI, Jay (Kylie) Anderson of Mentor, and Matthew Anderson of Erskine; grandchildren, Brittany (Jason), Brandon, Bailey, Bryce, Emily, Ella, Tyler, Haylee, Aliya, and Gracie; two great grandchildren, Lexi and Kyler. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Joshua Delton Hickman.Honorary Pallbearers: Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews & North and South Camp.Active Pallbearers: Bruce Roed, Steve Evenson, Don Simonson, Jr., Dale Peterson, Milford Gustafson, Jesse Hickman, Tyler Erickson, and Eric Roed.
