Deloris "Dee Dee" (McGehee) Fritz was born to Luke and Helen (Oller) McGehee on December 10, 1955 in Gurney, Illinois. Dee Dee was the second youngest of five girls. She grew up in Gurney, Illinois and graduated from Warren Township High School in 1974. After high school she roomed with her older sister, Yvonne, and enjoyed concerts, going out to eat, and traveling with her. In Fall 1979, Dee Dee and Yvonne were eating dinner at Center's Travel Stop in Russell, Illinois. This is when Dee Dee met a truck driver who would eventually become her husband, Bob Fritz. Bob and Dee Dee married on July 26, 1980 at Mt. Carmel Free Lutheran Church in McIntosh, Minnesota. Two years later in November 1982 Bob and Dee Dee would welcome their first daughter, Brenda Leann. In June 1987, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Kristin Marie. The family lived in McIntosh and the girls graduated from Win-E-Mac High School. Dee Dee enjoyed watching WEM sporting events, concerts, plays, musicals, and everything else her daughters participated in. Over the years, Dee Dee opened her home to several kids in the area and loved them all as her own. If you wanted a cold can of pop, needed a listening ear, craved a pack of Gushers, or needed a hug, Dee Dee's house was where you went. It was a safe, inviting place that Dee Dee was proud to keep clean and welcoming. She, along with Bob, enjoyed teaching high school Sunday School classes at Mt. Carmel, Resurrection Free Lutheran in Beltrami, and Calvary Free Lutheran in Fosston. Her heart for the youth at these churches as well as Bethany Bible Camp in Bemidji was very evident by everyone who met her. She also cared deeply for her residents and coworkers at Poplar Meadows in McIntosh and Cornerstone in Fosston. Dee Dee also enjoyed attending Minnesota Lynx games with her family, baking, collecting Brian Harper baseball cards, tending to her flower gardens, and talking about Jesus. On October 23, 2020, Dee Dee went home to be with her Savior Jesus at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 1:21, "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain." She now knows the fully glory of this Scripture. She was preceded in death by her parents Luke and Helen, her in-laws Bill Fritz Sr., and Beryl (Poplar) Fritz, her sister Yvonne (Mark) Taylor, brother-in-law Bruce Fritz, and niece Julie Fritz. She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Brenda Fritz and Brenda's fiance Charles Zwald, daughter Kristin (Johnny) Watson, her sisters Caren, Sherry, and Diane and their children Mike, Juliann, Joe, Nick, and Melissa, sister-in-law Beverly Aakhus, brother-in-law Paul Aakhus, brother-in-law Bill (Valerie) Fritz Jr., brother-in-law Brent Fritz, brother-in-law John (Dawn) Fritz, nephews Jason (Bobbi), Jeff, Billy (BriAnna), Jeremy, Josh, Justin (Sami), Jacob, and neices Michele (Derek), Jessica (Tyler), Hannah (Justin), Sarah, and Ellie, great-nieces and great-nephews, and her three "sons" Kyle Peterson, Kory Peterson, and Mikah Olson all of McIntosh.https://vimeo.com/473217906
