PLEASE NOTE THAT MEMORIAL SERVICES ARE ON MAY 22ND. Delores Grundyson, age 69, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Monday (May 3rd) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (May 22nd) at Mount Carmel Free Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Dale Mellgren officiating. Interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, rural Winger, MN. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Delores Audrey Rud was born on July 31, 1940 in Fosston, MN to Edwin and Rebecca (Sovick) Rud. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She attended the Hillside Country School in Clearwater County through the eighth grade. She then attended two years of school in Bagley, MN and finished her schooling and graduated from Fosston High School in 1958. After graduation, Delores worked at various jobs, including being a nurses aide, waitress, and cook. She also worked at the Fosston Potato Plant.Delores was united in marriage to Melford Grundyson on December 2, 1961 in the parsonage of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh. After their marriage they remained in McIntosh. Delores continued to work at the Potato Plant for a short time. She later worked part-time as a bookkeeper for the Creamery and the Co-op Oil Station in McIntosh. She was also a substitute bus driver for the Mac-Winger School.Delores was very talented. She loved music, playing the piano and singing. Her and Melford loved to sing together and sang at various events throughout the years. She also loved to draw and paint and many of her paintings decorated the walls of their home. Knitting and crocheting were also a favorite hobby. She was also a wonderful cook and made the best BBQ ribs!Delores was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992. She continued living at her home in McIntosh until August of 2006, being lovingly cared for by Melford and her son, Perry. She then entered the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Over the following years, everyone at PMCC became her extended family and she came to love them all. Delores enjoyed being on the computer, sending and receiving emails and in recent months had a lot of fun being on "Facebook".Delores passed away on May 3, 2010 from complications associated with M.S. at the age of 69.She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Melford, of McIntosh; daughter, Melanie (Mark) Olinger, of Lansford, ND; son, Perry, of McIntosh; one granddaughter, Melissa Olinger, Lansford, ND; mother Rebecca Rud and brother Erwin, both of Fosston; several cousins, one niece and one nephew.She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin and several aunts and uncles.
