Delores Dyrdahl

Delores Dyrdahl, age 87, of Lengby, MN, passed away on Wednesday, January 24th, at her daughter's home near Erskine, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30th, at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby with the Rev. John Ragan officiating. Interment will be in Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery, Lengby. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Monday, January 29th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Delores Mae Rotness was born on July 3, 1930 at the Fosston Hospital to John and Ida Hanson Rotness. She was raised in Columbia Township and was baptized and confirmed at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston. She attended Pine Hill School and graduated from Fosston High School in 1948.She worked as a nurse at Pioneer nursing home and later at the old Fosston hospital where she met Russell. They were married at the Fridhem Lutheran parsonage on June 2, 1956. She worked at the lefse factory in Lengby and the new Fosston hospital. They made their home on the farm near Lengby until 2007 when they moved to Fosston. She was active in Fridhem Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and taught Sunday School.She had a heart of gold and a green thumb. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers immensely. She loved the Lord and was anxious to be reunited with Russell. Lynda lovingly cared for her mom 24 hours a day for the past 5 years. She is survived by four children, Douglas (Mary) Dyrdahl of Lengby, Donald (Karen) Dyrdahl of Fosston, Lynda Dyrdahl of Lengby, and Lizabeth (Richard) Hanson of Fosston; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Jacobsen of Dilworth, MN and Geraldine (Ralph) Hove of Fosston; sisters-in-law, Hatsue Rotness of Seattle, WA, Ellen Rotness of Chadron, NE, Verna Kammen of Roseau, MN, and Margaret Lindberg-Imsdahl (Monte) of Buffalo, MN. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; brothers, Kenneth, Ivan, Harlan and Donald; sisters, Idella Olson and Helen Rotness; brothers-in-law, Truman Olson, Les Jacobsen, Arnold Dyrdahl, Eugene Dyrdahl and Lester Dyrdahl; and sisters-in-law, Eunice Rotness, Ardis Rotness, Mabel Berg and Gertrude Klatt.
