Debra Johnson

Debra Johnson, age 70, of Fosston, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with the Rev. John Ragan officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Debra Faye Skolte Johnson was born on February 16, 1951, in Austin, Minnesota to parents Kenneth and Violet (Beeman) Skolte. She grew up near Bertha, Minnesota and graduated from Bertha High School. After high school she attended, and graduated from, the University of Minnesota Morris. This is where she met the love of her life, Michael Johnson, when they were both attending college.

Deb and Mike were united in marriage in June of 1972 in Bertha. Mike joined the Air Force soon after college and they spent many years traveling together throughout the country and world, spending 8 years overseas.

Deb returned to school later in life and attained a degree in Cyto and Lab Technologist. They both worked at a medical university for several years. After retirement, they moved to Fosston where they have lived for the past 8 years.

Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Michael, of Fosston; four children, Ryan, Nathaniel, Alyssa, and Tristan; grandchildren; her mother, Violet; and siblings.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.
