Deborah Halvorson

Deborah Halvorson, age 58, of McIntosh, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 27th, at her home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13th, at the McIntosh Community Center with the Rev. Gordon Syverson officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday (November 13th) at the community center. Deborah Lynn Thomas Halvorson was born on January 8, 1963, in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Richard and Helene (Wycoskie) Thomas. She moved to Texas with her family where she graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio in 1981.

She married Kevin Westall in 1983 and they had two daughters, Stephanie and Rebecca. The family moved to Fosston and Kevin and Debbie later divorced. In 1992, she was married to Arlen Halvorson. This union lovingly brought together two more children from Arlen’s first marriage, Jason and Chad. As the years went on, two children were born to Debbie and Arlie, Benjamin and Nicole.

Debbie worked at several places in the area over the years, including Molly’s Paint Pot, the American Legion, Customer Traac, and most recently as a Personal Care Assistant. While she loved all of them, one of her favorites was Molly’s Paint Pot. Growing up she wanted to be an artist and enjoyed bringing beauty and color to the world.

She loved taking care of plants and flowers; and always enjoyed having her furry friends nearby. Deborah especially enjoyed spending time with, and feeding, her family especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Arlen, of McIntosh; six children, Stephanie Westall of McIntosh, Becca (Mitch) Johnson of Grand Rapids, MN, Jason (Jody) Halvorson of Minneapolis, MN, Chad Halvorson of WI, Benjamin Halvorson of McIntosh, and Nicole (Kameron) Anderson of Bagley, MN; several grandchildren; three sisters, Lori (Bob) Lecuyer, Erin (Ryan) Solberg, and Ashley Tofsly; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
