Dean Arlo Lindberg was born on May 19, 1941, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to parents Carl and Leticia (Matson) Lindberg. He grew up on the family farm in Hill River Township north of Fosston, attended the Hill River country school and Fosston High School, graduating in 1959.

After high school, Dean attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis for two years. While singing in the choir at the Tabernacle Church, Dean met the love of his life, Beverley Johnston.

They were married in The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa on February 13, 1961. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Twin Cities.

In 1971, they moved back to Dean’s roots to raise their family. They lived at the Lindberg family farm until 1981, when they moved into Fosston.

Although Dean drove semi truck for much of his career, his passion was people. Dean and Bev logged nearly 5 million miles criss-crossing the USA. This was the vehicle that allowed them to minister to people through words and music, visiting family and friends, and making new friends along the way.

Dean and Bev ministered through music for their entire lives. Together they sang at hundreds of weddings, funeral, church services and other special events. Their love of the Lord was always evident when they were singing. Bev passed away on May 5, 2019.

After Bev passed, Dean continued to minister through music and driving. He dearly loved singing with choirs, quartets, and leading songs at services. And, with Dean’s love of kids and driving, it was a perfect fit for him to be a bus driver for the Fosston Schools. He particularly enjoyed taking the teams to games and watching them play. Other passions in his life were hunting (mostly deer hunting), tending to his grapes that he grew by his house, and he was also an excellent cook. Most of all, Dean lived his life by praising his Lord and by loving his family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his three children, Becky (Bob) Overmoe of Fosston, Joe Lindberg of Fosston, and Jim Lindberg of Port Charlotte, FL; grandson, Justin Anderson of Duluth, MN; great grandson, Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bev; his son and his wife, Jonathan & Roberta; his parents; and his brothers and their spouses, Chuck & Joyce and Bill & Irene.
