David Solie

David LeRoy Solie, age 77, of Fosston, MN, passed away peacefully on Saturday (November 29th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (December 3rd) at the Lengby Baptist Church in Lengby, MN with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will be held in Oakland Cemetery, rural Lengby at a later date. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with arrangements and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.David was born in Lengby, Minnesota on August 25, 1931 to Oscar and Ruth (Taflin) Solie. He attended grade school in Lengby and worked at various farms locally and also in North Dakota and Montana. He also spent some time working on the ore boats out of Duluth. David attended Lengby Baptist Church during the years of his retirement.David was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother Earl of Lengby; and sister Helen (Mrs. Alvin Berntson) of Bagley, MN. He is survived by two sisters: Leona (Eugene) Olson of Naples, FL and Mae (Daniel) Olson of Naples, FL. He is also survived by nephews, a niece, grand nephews and nieces, as well as several cousins.Special thanks to the caregivers who attended to David's needs during the last few months and to his church family at Lengby Baptist.
