David Carr, age 63, of Lengby, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 19th, at Bethany on University in Fargo, ND under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26th, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in the Lengby City Cemetery in the spring. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. David graduated from Hillsboro High School and the University of North Dakota with a degree in journalism. At UND, he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. David worked for several North Dakota and Minnesota newspapers including The Hillsboro Banner, the Thirteen Towns, and the Farmer's Independent. David's dream of having a camper at Springsteel Resort at Lake of the Woods came true and he enjoyed fishing and watching sports. He loved spending time with his friends from the Lengby area. He continued the Scandinavian family recipes each holiday season. He was a huge fan of UND sports, the Twins and Vikings.He married Barbara Lende on July 22, 1995 in Lengby, Minnesota.David is survived by his wife, Barbara Lende Carr of Lengby, MN; stepdaughter Nicole (Jeremy) Smith and her children Kai, Pyper, and Ellie of Fargo, ND; sisters, Nancy (Kip) Kaler of Fargo, ND; and Susan (Duane) Borgeson of Sartell, MN; five nieces and nephews, two great-nephews; aunt Margaret Stolee of Plymouth, MN; uncles Tom (Bobbie) Carr of Monterey, CA; Walt Enzminger of Grants Pass, OR and four cousins and his in-laws Delores and Milfred Somdalen of Lengby and Barbara's siblings.He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, and his brother, Peter.
