David Brown, age 60, of Fosston, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 8th, in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st, at the United Methodist Church in Fosston with the Rev. Gordon Syverson officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, rural Sabin, MN at a later date. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, June 1st, at the church. David Wesley Brown was born on September 21, 1958 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Glen and Dorothy (Poehls) Brown. He was baptized in the United Church of Christ in Barnesville, Minnesota and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Fosston. He attended school in Fosston and graduated from high school in 1976. After high school, David worked at Fosston Motors, then for Ron Steile in Atlanta, Georgia, and for 20 years as a welder for Northern Pipeline. Currently, David was working for the IMLE wild rice farm near Gully, MN.In his spare time, David liked to fix and tinker with small engines and was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends. He also liked to ice fish and, in earlier years, he also enjoyed hunting and summer fishing. He was a member of the Gonvick Sportsman's Club and past member of the Snowmobile Club. At one time he collected and restored old tractors. He was especially proud of his two David Brown tractors.Survivors include his mother, Dorothy, of Fosston; three brothers, Doug (Shirley) of McComb, MS, Donald (Rayette) of Jamestown, ND, and Duane (Connie) of Fargo, ND; 13 nieces and nephews, Evelyn, Asa, Eric, Katie, Danny, Josh, Jacob, Matt, Chris, Tessa, Terra, Melinda, and Stephanie; many great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen, on August 25, 2018; and his grandparents, Asa and Neoma Brown and John and Stella Poehls.
