Daryl Evje, age 49, of Lithia Springs, GA, and formerly of Gully, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (March 22nd) in Georgia. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (April 21st) at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail with the Dawn Hanson officiating. Interment will be in Sand Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Trail. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with arrangements and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Daryl Jon Evje was born on August 25, 1962 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Doris (Moy) Evje and the late Lester Evje. He was baptized and confirmed at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail, Minnesota, attended grade school in Gully and graduated from Fosston High School in 1980.Daryl then attended the A.V.T.I. in Thief River Falls, Minnesota in the auto mechanics program. After graduation, his first job was at Dean's Service in Gonvick, Minnesota.In 1986 he left for Georgia where he was employed at Ronco, owned by Ron Steile of the Gully-Trail area. After several years he began working at different heating and air conditioning companies until he joined Estes Company where he was currently employed.In 1992 he was married to Melissa Ganeus, and to this union on daughter, Caitlin was born. Daryl enjoyed playing sports as a young man, playing with the Trail softball team. He also started playing golf and while at the Estes Company he would attend their golfing vacations in Florida every year. During one event, he won a set of golf clubs which he donated to the Fosston High School Golf Program.Daryl passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 after suffering a massive heart attack at the age of 49 years.He is survived by his daughter, Caitlin of Lithia Springs, GA; his mother, Doris Evje of Gully, MN; one sister, Dianne (Bob) Danielson of Bagley, MN; three brothers, Dean of Fosston, and David and Darren of Gully. Also surviving are two nieces, Kara (Jason) Perry and their daughter, Lexi of Deer River, MN and Megan (Steve) Clark and their daughters, Madison and Abigail of Stanley, ND; one aunt, Dolores Bertram of Ashby, MN; and one uncle Donavon Moy of Gully; and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Evje; one brother, Doug; his grandparents, John and Alma (Brenna) Evje and John and Hazel (Anderson) Moy; four uncles John Evje, Jr., Russell Evje, and Ordell and Gary Moy; four cousins Judy and Janice Evje, Ron Bertram and Vicki Nakamurra.
