Darren Evje

Darren Evje, age 49, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Friday, April 19th, at Essentia Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27th, at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail with Dawn Hanson officiating. Interment will be in Sand Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Trail. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday, April 26th at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com. Darren Michael Evje was born on November 18, 1969 in Fosston MN. He was the youngest of Lester and Doris Evje's six children. He was baptized and confirmed at Sand Valley Lutheran Church in Trail. He graduated from Fosston High School. He worked at Palubicki's grocery store for over 20 years. He participated in the Special Olympics when he was young. Darren loved life and loved people. Loved to dance, Darren was a little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n roll. All the girls would get a turn around the dance floor. Loved to travel, when he reached the Montana border, the cowboy hat came on. That must have come from all the John Wayne movies he liked to watch. He loved to shoot pool. He had his very own stick. Once he started he didn't want to quit. He loved the MN Twins, the Vikings, and he loved WWF wrestling. Darren loved to support his brothers when they played a round of golf, he'd ride in the golf cart. When they were bowling, he'd support the team. He was his mother's constant companion, when his father passed away in 1995, he told his mother he would take care of her and he did until she left us in 2012.Darren passed away at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston under hospice on April 19, 2019. Darren is survived by his sister, Dianne (Robert) Danielson of Bagley MN, brothers, Dean Evje of Gully MN and David Evje of Thief River Falls MN. Nieces, Kara (Jake) Perry of Grand Rapids MN, Megan (Steve) Clark of Ross ND, Caitlin Evje of Douglasville GA. Great-nephew, Devin Perry of Bemidji MN. Great-Nieces, Madison and Abigail Clark and Lexi Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Doris Evje, brothers, Douglas and Daryl Evje.
