Darald Paulson

Darald Paulson, age 52, of rural Trail, Minnesota passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022.  A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Monday August 29 at New Journey Church in Fosston, MN with Pastor Jarred LeBon officiating. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Lunch will be served at New Journey Church following the service and graveside service at Rosehill Cemetery in Fosston, MN. Darald Allen Paulson was born on November 1, 1969 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents James and Janice (Anderson) Paulson.  Darald grew up on the family farm in Eden Township.  He attended grade school in Gully and Fosston, Minnesota.  He graduated from Fosston High School in 1988.  After high school he attended North Dakota State University for one year where he majored in Ag Education.

After this Darald returned to the family farm to farm full-time.  He farmed in partnership with his Dad.  Darald enjoyed the outdoors.  He planted hundreds of trees and was meticulous with his yard work.  He enjoyed antiques and collectibles.  His hobby and passion in later years was his collection of toy tractors, antiques and memorabilia from the local area and other items that had a connection with his past. Many have enjoyed viewing his collection.

Family was his most prized possession though.  Darald was great with kids and enjoyed spending time with them and watching them grow up.  Specifically, his nephew and nieces and some of his cousin’s kids who lived nearby and were very close to him.  Since he had no children himself these special kids in his life were like his own to him.  A highlight for him was getting them gifts for birthdays and Christmas.  He often had gifts for them, and many other people, purchased way in advance as he was always thinking about getting people gifts.  It gave him great pleasure to give to others.  He had a very tender heart this way.  He was a generous gentleman.

Darald was a member of the Fosston Baptist Church (now known as New Journey Church) in Fosston. Minnesota.  He accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young boy and was baptized as teenager.  He loved God and lived a life that showed this, despite the trials he endured in his last several years on earth with health issues.

Survivors include his parents James and Janice Paulson, his brother Daniel Paulson and his wife Tina and their three children and families, Ryan (Hillary) Paulson, Nicole (Jonathan) Halbur and their daughter Brynlee, and Hannah Paulson.  Many aunts, uncles, cousins and cousin’s children also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Alvin and Catherine Paulson and Leo J. and Doris Anderson.
