Dale August Besser, age 9, from Erskine, MN passed away on Friday, June 11th at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, MN due to injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Rev. Timothy Lundeen and Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery at Erskine. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17th at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. Dale August Besser was born on February 6, 2001 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota to Rick and Dawn (Baumgartner) Besser. He lived in several towns in northwestern Minnesota, including Roseau, Greenbush, and Warroad, and came to live in Erskine in December of 2006. He attended Win-E-Mac Elementary School and spent summers with his mother in the Roseau/Warroad area.Dale loved sports, especially baseball, football, basketball, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed crafts, music, singing, and performing in school plays, as well as playing tricks on his brothers, spending time with his family, and playing with his brothers. He always had a smile.On Friday, June 11, 2010, Dale Besser passed away at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota at the age of 9 years.He is survived by his father Rick (Jennifer) Besser of Erskine, MN and his mother Dawn Baumgartner of Greenbush, MN; brothers Benjamin Besser and Erik Besser of Greenbush, MN, and Noah Besser of Erskine, MN; step-sisters Lindsey Juhl and Madison Juhl of Erskine, MN; grandparents Dave (Bonnie) Salveson of Erskine, MN, Mary Besser of Baudette, MN, Greg (Betsy) Brown of Williams, MN, Larry Baumgartner of Bemidji, MN, and Luanne Baumgartner of Roseau, MN; great grandmothers Mabel Baumgartner of Bemidji, MN, and Bev Carlson of Williams, MN; as well as many other relatives.He was preceded in death by great grandparents.Blessed be his memory.
