Curtis Swenson, age 74, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Wednesday, February 8th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17th, at New Journey Church in Fosston with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, February 16th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. Family will also greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.Curtis Leroy Swenson was born on October 17, 1942 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Clarence and Christina Ohnstad Swenson. He grew up north of Fosston, attended country school and graduated from Fosston High School in 1960. After high school, he went on to attend auto body school in Fargo. He returned to Fosston where he owned and operated his own shop in Fosston known as West Side Auto Body.Curt was united in marriage to Evalyn Cunningham on April 16, 1981. After their marriage, they lived in Fosston. Curt also worked for MTL Transport for many years up until the time of his passing. He liked woodworking, fishing, hunting and motorcycle trips and visiting with his friends.Survivors include his wife, Evalyn, of Fosston; four children, Georgia (Sam) McCroy of Viking, MN, Vincent (Bev) Murray of Hardin, MT, Randy (Elaine) Murray of St. Cloud, MN, and Joe (Cinda) Lovato of St. Cloud, MN; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Thompson of Grand Forks, ND; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Noel Thompson.
