Craig Eskeli, age 59, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 23rd, at his home in Fosston. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 28th, at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Interment will be in the Finnish Cemetery, rural Plummer. There will be reviewal for one hour prior to the funeral at the church in Plummer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The American Lung Association. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston, and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Craig William Eskeli was born May 10, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Martin and Fern (Huff) Eskeli, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1969. He attended Washburn Trade School in Chicago, training to be a painter, until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Craig served from 1970 to 1974 on the U.S.S. Seattle as a Boiler Tech Operator. After his service, he returned to Chicago and went to work at Great Lakes Naval Base, North Chicago, Illinois where he worked for 38 years as a Stationary Engineer. He retired June 1, 2006 and moved to Fosston, Minnesota.He was united in marriage to Darlynne Hyerczyk on December 3, 1985 in Waukegan, Illinois.Craig loved deer hunting-rifle and muzzle loader- and working with wood. He enjoyed driving his ATV, sitting in his garage or basement and listening to music, working word puzzles, and spending time with his wife, Darlynne. He was a member of the Plummer American Legion Post #623, and was a very proud American who loved his country.Craig Eskeli passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at his home in Fosston, at the age of 59 years.He is survived by his wife Darlynne of Fosston; one step-daughter, Susan (Paul) Pellico, and her son Robby of Schaumburg, Illinois; one step-son, John (Pam) Niziolek, and his son Stefan of Walkersville, Maryland; his mother, Fern Eskeli, of Plummer, Minnesota; one brother, Randy (Diana) Eskeli of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; one niece; one nephew; and two uncles, Edward Eskeli and Melvin Eskeli, both of Plummer; as well as many cousins and dear friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Eskeli; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
