Collin Rud, age 21, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Monday (May 21st) at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident near Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday (May 26th) at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Friday (May 25th) and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday, all at Hope Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston. Condolences to the family may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Collin Dennis Rud was born on May 20, 1986 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Dennis and Mary Jo (Offerdahl) Rud. He grew up in Fosston and graduated from Fosston High School in 2005. Collin was active in athletics during his high school years, participating in football, track (participated in State competition), and golf. Following high school, he attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota where he played football on the Freshman team. Collin was currently a student at Bemidji State University. Collin was baptized, confirmed and a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. He loved sports, music and spending time with his family and friends.Survivors include his parents, Dennis and Mary Jo Rud of Fosston; three brothers, Bryan of Fairfield, CT, Derek of Fosston, and Brandon at home in Fosston. Also surviving are uncles and aunts, Allen (Sharon) Rud of Brainerd, MN, James Rud of Minneapolis, MN, and Jim (Ann) Offerdahl of Fosston; great aunt, Lorraine Sullivan of Fairfield, CT; and great uncle, Melvin "Red" Offerdahl of Bagley, MN. Many cousins also survive.He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Janet Offerdahl and Alfred and Myrtle Rud.
