Clara Wodahl

Clara Wodahl, age 99, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Thursday (March 5th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday (March 10th) at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine. Visitation will be held for from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Clara Ceciclia Olson was born on February 1, 1910 in Mentor, Minnesota to parents Edwin and Ingeborg (Hagen) Olson. She grew up in Mentor, attended rural school and the Mentor School when it first opened. At the age of 19, Clara stayed home and helped to raise her siblings as their mother passed away at a young age.Clara was united in marriage to Hildor Wodahl on March 23, 1935 in Crookston, Minnesota. After their marriage, they lived in Red Lake Falls, Hibbing for 27 years and then returned to Erskine in 1979. Hildor passed away on May 20, 1992. She continued to live in her home until August of 2008 when she moved to the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active in ladies aid. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and making doilies for giving to family and friends. She had given over 420 quilt tops for world relief through the church. Clara is remembered as a very giving and caring person; she was always concerned about the welfare of others before herself. Clara passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center at the age of 99 years, one month and four days.Survivors include her son, Dean (Joyce) Wodahl of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Jerry (Jody) Littler, Jeff (Mary) Littler, Les (Marguerite) Littler, Doralee (Andy) Ege, Douglas (Shelle) Littler, Gina Sarri, Kari Wodahl, Kristin (Christopher) Wodahl Bateman, and Kyle Wodahl; great grandchildren, Jacob and Janna Littler, Samantha and Courtney Littler, Kayleigh, Megan and Benjamin Littler, Madison Littler, and Katie, Brittany, Jacob, and Hannah Bateman.Also surviving are two sisters, Elsie Patterson of Thief River Falls, MN, and Ruth Hanson of Erskine; and son-in-law, Glen Littler of Eagle, ID. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, DeLoris Jean Wodahl Littler on April 15, 1999; granddaughter, Kimberly Jodean Wodahl on August 10, 1984; and siblings, Alvin Olson, Anna Johnson, Ida Lindseth, Gladys Johnston, Hazel Anderson and infant sister, Gertie.Pallbearers will be Kyle Wodahl, Jerry Littler, Les Littler, Jeff Littler, Christopher Bateman, Douglas Littler and Walter Lindseth.
