Charlie Ricketts, 69, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday (December 10th) at First Care Hospital in Fosston. A memorial service for Charlie will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 7:00 PM in the evening at Bethel Assembly Church in Fosston with Pastor Hollis Graves officiating. Interment will be held at a later date, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston assisted the family with the arrangements.Charles Henry Ricketts was born on January 14, 1937 in San Pedro, California to parents Byron M. and Ida M. (Walker) Ricketts. They moved to Adelanto, California where they raised three children, Bonita, Edith, and Charlie. In 1954, at age 17, Charlie joined the United States Air Force and served four years. He came home to Adelanto in 1958, and moved to Redondo Beach, California, and worked various jobs. In 1962, he started working at Western Wire, and worked there for 22 years until they went out of business in 1984. After that, Charlie became a trucker, and drove until 1997. Charlie was married to Mary Horgeshimer in 1964 in Harbor City, California. They had a son, Timothy in 1965, a daughter, Shelly Jean in 1967, and another son, Terry in 1969. In 1998, Charlie and Mary moved to Fosston, Minnesota.In 2001, Charlie was diagnosed with prostate cancer. On Sunday, December 10, 2006 Charlie passed away at First Care Hospital in Fosston at the age of 69 years.He is survived by his wife Mary of Fosston; son, Timothy Paul Ricketts and his wife Wilma of Fosston, daughter, Shelly Jean Morgan and her husband Steve of Prescott Valley, AZ, and son, Terry Ray Ricketts of Crookston, MN; his sister, Bonita Hubbard and her husband Art of Fosston; as well as various nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Edith Hochhalter.
