Charles "Ray" Davis, age 58 of Fosston, MN passed away on Thursday, May 22nd at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 10:00 a.m. at New Journey Church in Fosston with Pastor Tyler Stynsberg officiating. Family and friends will gather for one hour before the memorial service at the church on Saturday morning, and interment of cremains will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Fosston. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Charles Raymond Davis was born on December 29, 1955 at Kings Daughter Hospital in Yazoo, Mississippi to Walter and Mary Davis. He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1972.Ray joined the air force in 1975 and was stationed in Grand Forks, ND. He met and wed his wife Mavis Cavalier. Their two sons Chuck and James were also born on the air force base. Ray was given an honorary discharge from the service in 1981.Ray worked various jobs throughout the years until his heart attack in July 2005. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He also had the ability to fix anything by brain storming and using anything he had handy even if it wasn't meant for that purpose exactly.Ray went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 22nd 2014 at Essential Health-First Care Living Center in Fosston, MN at the age of 58.Survivors include sisters Helen Brown and her son Chris Brown of Fosston, Mary Lane Davis of Independence, MS, brothers Robert Davis of rural MS, Douglas Davis of Collierville, MS, George Davis of Montgomery, IL, and grandson Charles "CJ" Davis of Fosston, MN, along with many nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and great nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife Mavis, two sons Chuck and James, his father Walter and mother Mary.
