Cecilia Finseth age 64, from Fosston, MN passed away on Thursday, September 2nd at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 7th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston with Father Dave Super presiding. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements, and sympathy messages may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Cecilia Lorraine Evelyn Asselin was born on August 18, 1946 to parents Homer and Clarice (Deschene) Asselin in Crookston, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, Minnesota, and graduated from Oklee High School.In the fall of 1966, Cecilia entered the Womens Army Corp. She had her basic training in Alabama and medical training in Texas. The remaining time was spent as a Medical Corpsmen in Ft. Meyer, Virginia completing a four year enlistment.After her discharge from the service Cecilia worked for Oklee Manufacturing, Arctic Cat, 17 years at McIntosh Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh, Minnesota, and the last eight years at Palubicki's Foods & Deli in Fosston, Minnesota.Cecilia was married to Darell Finseth in 1977. Their son Christopher David Finseth was born in 1981.She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fosston for 27 years.On Thursday, September 2, 2010 Cecilia passed away at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, Minnesota at the age of 64 years.Left to mourn her passing is her son, Chris Finseth of Crookston, MN; four sisters, Stella (Dwight) Howard of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Rosella Pietruszewski of Argyle, MN, Phyllis Sulerud of Crookston, and Bernadette Hagle of Thief River Falls, MN; one brother, Duane (Pat)Asselin of Oklee; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Asselin of Warroad, MN, and Pam Asselin of Oklee; special friend, Sharon Garceau of Crookston; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Roland Asselin and Bernard Asselin.
