Cathi Evenson

Cathi Evenson, age 57, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Monday (August 27th) at her home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday (August 31st) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday (August 30th) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She was the pride and joy of Ursula and Clifford Noyes. She lived on their farm in rural Brooks with her big brother Jim and her younger sister, Carolyn. The farm is where she learned to love gardening, crafting, and most importantly, the Lord.In 1968 she married the love of her life, Michael Ray Evenson. The two were married for 39 years and loved each other in a way in which everyone admired. Together, Mic and Cathi raised two daughters, Kristi and Kara. Cathi's girls were her world. She was fully devoted to them and assured them of this with every word and deed. She left them knowing that they were adored by her and the Lord above.Cathi's love for others permeated her family and friends but also extended to her community and all those she met. She was a beloved teacher for more than 32 years. She cared for each child as if he was her own, knowing each by name. She had a silly song for everything and her enthusiasm for life was contagious. Cathi's smile will forever be imprinted on the hearts of each person who knew her.Cathi is remembered and adored by her husband, Mic, her daughters, Kristi (Jerry) Sanders and Kara (Jared) Voorhees; her grandson, Harrison Sanders; brother, Jim (Nona) Noyes; sister, Carolyn Toupin; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Dick) Paquin, Dawn (Mark) Austin, Becky Evenson, Shelly (Danny) Dale; brothers-in-law, Steve (Linda) Evenson, Mark Evenson, and Jeff Evenson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts and uncles. Cathi had many devoted friends.On August 27, 2007, Cathi Evenson left this world a better place. She died at age 57, too soon for those of us who love her here, not soon enough for those who were waiting for her in heaven, her mother and father Ursula and Cliff Noyes and her mother and father-in-law, Maude and Bob Evenson.
