Carl Peterson

Carl Peterson, age 85, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Wednesday (February 21st) from injuries he received in an automobile accident near Erskine. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. Pastor Timothy Lundeen will officiate and Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held Monday, February 26 from 5:00 pm til 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at the funeral home in Erskine, and for one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine.Carl Johan Peterson was born November 23, 1921 in Knute Township, rural Erskine, Minnesota to parents Nils and Theoline Bohn Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine, and was a lifelong member. He attended school in rural Erskine.Carl began farming the family homestead, rural Erskine in the mid 1930's. Carl was united in marriage to Fay Broin in 1949 and they had two sons, Dale and Jackie.Carl farmed, worked with Emil Broin building Berger Homes, at the Erskine Creamery , and at Steenerson Lumber and Lakeside Building Center all in Erskine.Fishing with Sonny in Canada, trapping, land management, and traveling were among Carl's favorite things. He was an outdoorsman and a family man.Carl Passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2007 near Erskine as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the age of 85.Survivors include, two sons; Dale (Linda Ramberg) Peterson of Bemidji and Jackie (Linda) Holmes Peterson of Erskine; grandchildren, Chris (Linda) Beech-Peterson of Blooming Prairie, MN, John Peterson and Jennifer of Maple Valley, WA, Sarah (Lan) Brown of Bemidji, MN, David Peterson of Bemidji, Shannon (Ali) Holmes of Los Angeles, CA, Amanda Holmes of Charlotte, N.C., Jessica Holmes of Erskine, and Cameron (Katrina) Broderick-Holmes of Erskine; eleven great grandchildren and two sisters, Anna Peterson of Erskine and Cora Davis of San Leandro, CA.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Fay Broin Peterson; sister, Esther Peterson; brother, Albert (Alice) Peterson ; half sister and brothers, Alma (Kristian) Ramberg, Ernest (Lillian) Peterson, Oscar (Letha) Peterson and Edgar Peterson; brother-in-law, Ray Davis; sister-in-law, Lois (George) Joseph, many nieces and nephews, and one great niece.
