Brenda Wang, age 54, of rural Mentor, MN, passed away on Wednesday (July 25th) at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday (July 30th) at Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Alan Arneson officiating. Interment will be in Saron Lutheran Cemetery, rural Erskine, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Brenda Lea Plante was born on August 3, 1957 in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota to parents David and Lola (Brazier) Plante. She was baptized in Greenbush, Minnesota and confirmed with the confirmation class from Saron Lutheran Church. She grew up in the Erskine area and graduated from Erskine High School in 1975. Brenda was united in marriage to Jeff Wang on April 20, 1979 in Red Lake Falls. Brenda attended and graduated from Northwest Technical College in Thief River Falls, Minnesota with a degree in cosmetology. Brenda and Jeff made their home in Winger and Brenda owned and operated the Haircut Junction in Winger. For the past eight years, they have been residing at their home by Maple Lake near Mentor. In August of 2009, Brenda was diagnosed with cancer.With her spare time, she liked to paint rocks, crochet dish towels, and spend time with family and friends. Brenda passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 54 years.Survivors include her husband, Jeff of Mentor; son, Shane Fladhammer of Renton, WA; granddaughters, Alexis, Sadie, Brooke and Miley; her parents, David and Lola Plante of Erskine; brother, Kelly Plante of Maplewood, MN; mother-in-law, Lois Jean Wang and her husband, Byron Kaupang of Winger; father-in-law, Truman Wang of Winger; brother-in-law, Chris Wang of Gillette, WY; sister-in-law, Debbie Sall of Winger; two nieces, April and Miranda Plante; and one nephew, David Sall. Aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
