Bonnie Louise (Kahl) McAtee, age 66, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Saturday (July 23rd) at First Care Living Center in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (July 29th) at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Dalen officiating. Family and friends may gather for a time of remembrance one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery. Bonnie was born on September 18, 1944, in Fosston, MN, to parents Donald and Edna (Nesvold) Kahl. She grew up in Heier Township, attended the Steinbrenner Elementary School and Fosston High School, and graduated in 1962. Following high school, Bonnie attended Mayville State University for one year and then graduated from Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. After graduation, she worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Fargo as a claims processor; then, she transferred to the Albuquerque, New Mexico office in 1971 and worked as a data-base specialist. She was united in marriage to William McAtee on August 5, 1973, at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston. After their marriage, they made their home in Albuquerque. Their son, William II, was born April 27, 1975. Her husband passed away in November of 2004. Bonnie retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield in April of 2005. She moved back to her childhood home in Heier Township in 2008 where she has since resided. Bonnie touched the lives of many people with her laughter and her trademark sense of humor. She enjoyed telling family stories and having fun with her family and friends, who were her top priority in life. Bonnie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Kaden. She was a caring and loving person, who will be remembered for her generosity and willingness to help others. Bonnie's family and friends will miss her stories and her laughter. Bonnie is survived by her son, William "Bill" McAtee II and his wife, Brandi, and their son, Kaden, of Fosston, MN; one brother, David Kahl and his wife, Diane, of Moorhead, MN; one nephew, David Kahl, Jr. and his wife, Sarah, of Fairview, PA; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
