Bonita Ann Sande was born on February 22, 1936 at home in Winger, Minnesota to parents Verner and Myrtle Berg Peterson. Punk, as she was known to most, spent her childhood in Erskine and Seattle, graduating from Erskine High School in 1954. On March 19, 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, Milton Sande. Punk attended cosmetology school in Thief River Falls and embarked on a career she dreamed of as a little girl. With her first beauty shop attached to their home, Punk successfully combined her family and professional life. Youngest daughters, Betsy and Kari, spent countless hours visiting with the ladies in the beauty shop. Once she moved her shop to the hardware store, Punk and Milt worked side by side for years. Punk's enthusiasm and positive attitude served her well throughout her life. Her love and support for her family was unwavering and her grandchildren were a great source of pride. She was a loyal friend and enjoyed sharing a glass of wine, especially with Carole, Diane, or Deb. She always looked forward to Milt's music parties so she could visit with Ardis and Bonnie. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Milton, of Erskine; children, Greg (Dawn) of Wahpeton, ND, Lori (Al) Soukup of Marine on St. Croix, MN, Betsy of St. Cloud, MN, and Kari (Guy) Oseth of Buffalo, MN; grandchildren, Maggie (Wes) Adair, Sam Soukup, Jorgan, Jensen, and Liam Oseth, and Ben and Brady Sande; a brother-in-law, Nels Lindseth of Erskine; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Lloyd Carlson; and siblings, Wayne Peterson and Betty Lindseth.
