She grew up in northern Minnesota and southern California, where she met the love of her life, Robert Mowitt.Betty and Bob were married 47 years. Out of their union, 3 beautiful daughters were born; Cheryl, Erica and Jennifer. Betty's crowning glory were her 8 precious grandchildren. The passion of Betty's life besides loving Bob, raising their family and gardening was being a nurse. Betty graduated as a nurse in 1993 from Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, Minnesota. She worked 9 years in Bagley Clinic with Dr. Eric Reeber and 17 years in Fosston Clinic with her "working buddy", Dr. Darren Swanson. She loved all her patients, but especially loved the moms and babies. Her patients affectionately referred to her as "Nurse Betty".Betty believed wholly in the saving grace of her Creator, Lord and Savior. She knew the design for her life was to get up each day and make someone else's day better, whether physically or emotionally. She just wanted to help. One of the ways she served her patients and community was with her Body Buddies. She sewed microwavable heat wraps and gave them away or sold them. It was little-known that she gave away far more than she sold. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law Chris and Willard Mowitt; and her son-in-law Michael Martin. Betty is survived by: her soul mate Robert Mowitt of Fosston; daughter Cheryl Martin of Huntsville, AL; Erica (Greg) Smith of Sylvania, OH; Jennifer (Joe) Zimmerman of Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren Robert and Rebecca Martin, Peytan, Reagan and Logan Smith, and Kendall, Kayla and Ashlyn Zimmerman; sister Lynda (Al) Harlow of San Jacinto, California; brother Keith (Marian) Evje of Gonvick, MN; and sister Julie (Greg) Clemenson of Mazappa, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
