Betty Johnson

Betty Johnson, age 69, of rural Mentor, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 13th at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 2:00 pm at Salem Lutheran Church in McIntosh, MN with Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at Asphult Cemetery, rural McIntosh, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home serving McIntosh is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Betty JoAnn Swanson was born on August 19, 1943 in Fosston, MN to parents Oscar and Anna (Tangen) Swanson. She attended school in Hill River Township, rural McIntosh. As a teenager she lived with her grandmother in McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh High School. She went on to attend Aaker's Business College in Fargo, ND. After college Betty worked at the Farmers State Bank in Fosston for a few years.Betty was married to Ernie Johnson on February 19, 1967. They lived near Crookston, MN until 1978 then moved to rural Mentor, MN.She loved gardening, attending church, reading the Bible, and going to Bible Study.On Wednesday, February 13, 2013 Betty passed away unexpectedly at her home near Mentor at the age of 69 years.She is survived by her husband, Ernie; three children, Michael Johnson of Mentor, Lori Johnson of Shawano, WI and Mark Johnson of Crookston, MN; and one grandson, Nicholas Johnson of Crookston.She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Sandra McClelland; and one brother, Jerome Swanson.
