Barbara Cobb

Barbara Cobb, age 78, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 6th, at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with Father JohnMelkies Suvakeen presiding. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Barbara L. Cobb was born on March 2, 1944, to Thomas and Lucetta (Modler) McAleese in Sterling, Illinois. She was the 4th of 7 children. She attended school in Sterling until high school when Thomas got a job with the railroad and they moved to West Chicago. There Barbara graduated from high school.

Barb was united in marriage to Richard Cobb in July 1966. To this union two children were born, Theresa and Matthew. Barb and Richard later divorced.

Barb met Ernest Agnes Sr. in 1981 while working as a bartender at a bowling alley in Illinois. Throughout her life Barb worked various jobs. She was a nurse’s aide, waitress, bartender, security guard and factory work. Barb and Ernie moved to Minnesota in 1997.

Barb enjoyed crocheting, painting, reading, watching Martha Stewart, Ru Paul and Project Runway.

Barbara passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley at the age of 78 years and four days.

She is survived by her Significant Other, Ernest, of Fosston; daughter, Theresa of Geneva, IL; son, Matthew of Chicago, IL; three grandsons, Daniel of Kentucky, Gavin in the U.S. Navy (CA), and Bennett of Illinois; one great granddaughter Amalie; one brother, Gerald (Ann) McAleese of Georgia. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronald and Thomas; and three sisters, Maureen, Joan, and Jean.
