Audrey Moan

Audrey Moan, age 81, of rural McIntosh, MN, passed away on Friday (August 22nd) at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (August 26th) at Trinity Free Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh with the Rev. Dale Mellgren officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Audrey Marie (Bakken) Moan was born on June 15, 1927 to Harry and Edna (Rust) Bakken at their home near Fertile, Minnesota. She was the oldest of their 13 children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, and attended two country schools and Fertile High School, graduating in 1946.She moved to Minneapolis and worked briefly at the University of Minnesota before attending the Lutheran Bible Institute for two years. She worked one summer at Mt. Carmel Bible Camp. She was married to Morris Moan on her 23rd birthday in 1950. Their entire 58 years of marriage were spent farming the Moan homestead and active in Trinity Free Lutheran Church.Audrey enjoyed her family, singing gospel music with them, growing flowers and working outside. She taught Sunday School at Trinity for many years, release-time classes in McIntosh, and was active in the Trinity women's WMF. She worked for several years at Mac Manor after their children left home. She suffered a slight stroke in 1999, followed by years of mini-strokes which gradually took her memory.Audrey passed away on Friday, August 22, 2008 at her home at rural McIntosh at the age of 81 years, two months and seven days.She is survived by her husband Morris of rural McIntosh and their five children: Linda (Lyndon) Korhonen of Cokato, MN; Larry of Phoenix, AZ; Judy (Peter) Franz of Maple Grove, MN; Steven (Jennifer) of Madison, WI; and Jerry (Rebecca) of Corcoran, MN. They have 16 grandchildren: Nathan (Rachel) Korhonen of San Diego, CA and Joshua Korhonen; Sarah (Michael) Borg, David (Whitney), Rachel, Lydia, Andrew, Anna, and Mark Franz of Minneapolis; Ashley (McVicker) and Kendall Moan of Madison; Jesse, Jonathan, Seth, Stephen, and Micah Moan of Corcoran; and one great grandson, Samuel Borg. She is also survived by 6 brothers and 5 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Arlo; and one unborn great granddaughter, Emilee Borg.
