Audrey Borgen

Audrey Borgen, age 83, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Thursday (April 2nd) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (April 9th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center Chapel with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine in the spring. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Audrey Mae Mienerts was born on July 6, 1925 in Burlington, Iowa to parents Harry and Myrtle (Truehl) Mienerts. They moved back to Raymond, Minnesota and then to rural Erskine. She attended 7th and 8th grade at the Oppegaard School and then high school in Erskine.She worked around the area and while working at the café in McIntosh, Minnesota, she met Earle C. Borgen. They were married on January 19, 1947. They resided in Barrett, Minnesota until 1952 when they moved back to Erskine where she has resided since. She worked as a waitress for Leon and Edie's Café; also worked for Molly Ness at Gamble's Hardware Store in Erskine.She loved horses and had "Bessie" for quite a few years and numerous cats and dogs. She helped out at her brothers farm in rural Erskine during the summers. She enjoyed life and always dressed so nifty. She entered the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine in October of 2003 where she resided until her death on April 2, 2009.Audrey had no children. She is survived by nieces, Barbara Johnstone of Erskine, Judith Lindseth of McIntosh, Sandra (Robert) Swanson of Gatzke, MN, Faith Vierzba of Rio Rancho, NM, and Diane (Robert) Olson of Garland, TX; one nephew, Mike (Rita) Stenlund of Albany, MN; and 13 great nieces and nephews and their families.She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle on May 12, 1999; her parents; brothers, Theodore and Harry Mienerts, Jr.; sisters, Margaret Norling, Evelyn Clausen and Darlene Stenlund.
