Arthur W. Lee, age 87, from Erskine, MN passed away on Friday, February 24th at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 29th at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Erskine, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at Sorum Cemetery, rural Erskine, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. He was baptized, confirmed, and married at Saron Lutheran Church, rural Erskine. He attended country school, and attended Northwest School of Agriculture at Crookston, graduating in 1941.On February 9, 1946 he married Helen Fladhammer. They purchased his grandfather's farm and farmed and lived there for 29 years. In 1975, they bought another farm, built a new home and Art put in a beautiful fireplace. They lived there for 35 years. In 2010, they moved into assisted living at Erskine.Art was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine, served on the Badger Township Board, and worked as custodian and bus driver for the Erskine School District for many years.On Friday, February 24, 2012 Art passed away at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 14 days.He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen Lee of Erskine; six children, Judy (Beryl) Froemke of Fargo, ND, Dennis (Pam) Lee of Audubon, MN, Donna (Mark) Tronerud of Dayton, OH, Nancy (Ken) Aase of Grand Forks, ND, Terry (Leslie) Lee of Richville, MN, and Randy (Wendy) Lee of Erskine; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, George (Dorothy) Lee of Oklee, MN; brother-in-law, Gene Lovin of Park Rapids, MN; and sister-in-law, Arlys Lee of Mahnomen, MN; as well as many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; brother, Joseph Lee; infant granddaughter, Heidi Aase; son-in-law, Roger Berg; and sister, Mildred Lovin.
