Anne Gunderson, age 51 from McIntosh, MN passed away on Wednesday, September 7th, at her home surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Anne Karen Rahier was born on July 8, 1965 in Deer River, MN to parents Milo and Jean (Haisman) Rahier. She grew up in Bigfork, MN where she graduated from high school in 1983. Anne worked at Marvin Windows in Warroad, MN where she met Bruce Gunderson. They were married on September 8, 1990 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in McIntosh, MN. Soon after they were blessed with two sons, Brandon and Bryan, who made them so proud. The family made their home in Salol, MN until 1994, when they moved to McIntosh. Over the years, Anne worked as a home health attendant in the area, and at The Office Bar and Grill and Neils Quality Meats. She enjoyed fishing, flowers and bird watching. She loved all animals, but her pets were a very important part of her life. She loved spending time with family and friends and will be remembered as being a wonderful cook, which was one way she expressed how she cared for her family. She is survived by her husband, Bruce of McIntosh; two sons, Brandon of McIntosh and Bryan of Moorhead, MN; two grandchildren, Gracey Lynn Gunderson and Brecken Conrad Gunderson; her mother, Jean Rahier of Marcell, MN; four sisters, Terry Delorme of Deer River (and special friend, Gary Schoenrock), Diane (Larry) Randall of Bemidji, MN, Janice (Steve) Hendricksen of Coon Rapids, MN, and June Rahier of Marcell; two brothers, Mitchel (Mary) Rahier of Bigfork, and Gordon (Evie) Rahier of Northome, MN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Diane Gunderson of McIntosh; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Jill) Gunderson of Rice, MN, Rodney (Darlene) Gunderson of Pinewood, MN, and Mark Gunderson of McIntosh; sister-in-law, Brenda (Mike) Vettleson of Roseau, MN; special friends, Rob and Janet Thompson, and Robin Goodwin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Milo Rahier; and special friends, Terry and Sherry Venem. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in McIntosh with Rev. Gordon Syverson and Pastor Gordon Rahier officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour before the memorial service at the church on Saturday morning. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home serving McIntosh is in charge of the arrangements.
