Andrew "Andy" Wilson, age 86, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 9th, at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 14th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the Naval Honors Team. Andrew Lewis Wilson, Jr. was born on October 2, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Andrew and Frances (Vohoviak) Wilson. He grew up and attended school in Buffalo, New York. He entered the United States Navy on April 24, 1950 and served on the U.S.S. Oriskany during the Korean War. He received honorable discharge on September 14, 1953 and returned to Buffalo, New York. Andy was married to his first wife, Anne, and together they had four children, Andrew III, Edward, Ernest, and Curtis. He was married to his second wife, Loretta, in 1972. Together they lovingly joined and raised their two families together, adding Raymond, Laurie, Linda, and LuAnn. In addition, Andy and Loretta were foster parents for many years. Andy worked as a machinist and truck driver in the New York area until his retirement. Loretta passed away in 2002. In 2003, he moved to Erskine, Minnesota and lived with his daughter, Linda. Due to health reasons, he entered McIntosh Senior Living this past January. Andy was an accomplished woodworker and loved animals, especially dogs. Survivors include his children, Andrew III (Joanne) Wilson of Denver, CO, Curtis Wilson of New York, Raymond (Linda) Peeples of Litchfield, NH, Laurie (Randy) Scott of Jacksonville, FL, and Linda Olson (Fran Carlson) of Erskine; son-in-law, Ron Holzschuh of Jacksonville, FL; 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loretta; two sons, Edward and Ernest; daughter LuAnn Holzschuh; great granddaughter, Emaleigh Olson; and great grandson, Lane Kotrba.
