Andrea Eraker, 89, formerly of Winger and Fosston, MN passed away Friday, September 26, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN, where she had been a resident since January of 2006. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger with Rev. Aage Carlsen and Rev. Nathan Baker-Trinity officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral at the church. Interment will be at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery at Winger. Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Sympathy messages may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Andrea Sophie Moland was born Sept. 9, 1919, to parents Carl and Ida (Herseth) Moland, rural Fertile, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the Maple Bay Lutheran Church and attended Roadside School and Fertile High School, graduating in 1936. Following her high school graduation, she attended normal training in Thief River Falls and taught in rural schools for several years, beginning her first teaching job a few days before her 18th birthday.When she came to teach at Wooded Park School in Winger Township, she met Clarence Eraker. They were married Nov. 25, 1943, at the Dovre parsonage in Winger, MN. They made their home on the Eraker farm southwest of Winger until moving to Fosston, MN in 2001.In 1953, Andrea began substitute teaching in the Winger School. She later worked as a tutor and as a teacher's aide, in both the Winger and McIntosh, MN schools, retiring in 1984.She was a longtime member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger, where she taught Sunday school and was active in the women's group.Survivors include three daughters, Kay (Aage) Carlsen of Fosston, Donna (Calvin) Skeie of McIntosh, and Darlene (Rodney)Gunderson of Duluth; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Irene Solie of Minot, North Dakota; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Eraker of Casselton, North Dakota, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, who died in 2006, two brothers, Harold and Reuben Moland, and two sisters, Julia Petterson and Leana Nordahl.
