Alice Sander, age 88 of Fosston, MN passed away on Thursday, June 7th at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11th at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN with Pastor Bob Kirchman officiating. Reviewal will be for one hour before the funeral at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Oak Park Cemetery, rural Clearbrook, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. She was married to Carl Carlson, and they lived in many locations while he was serving in the military.She was united in marriage to Donald L. Sander on November 7, 1968 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They moved to a farm in Queen Township, rural Fosston, Minnesota in 1976 and farmed for 25 years. She was a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, Minnesota and a past member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was also active in the WELCA. Alice enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting, and she loved animals including cats, dogs, and cattle. Alice passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota at the age of 88 years.She is survived by her husband Donald of Fosston; one son, Bruce (Kathy) Carlson of Minneapolis; three grandchildren; and one brother, Walter (Fay) Alvar of Duluth.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl; and two brothers.
