Aldora Verna Otness was born on January 22nd, 1924 to Denis and Anna (Olson) Otness in Lengby, MN. She grew up on the family farm, attended the Hoge Country School and graduated from Fosston High School with the class of 1942. After graduation, Aldora baby-sat for the Viken family, then moved to Minneapolis to work at Sears. In 1945, she married Soren Sultvedt who was also from the Lengby area. They took over the Sultvedt family farm and raised a family together.Aldora was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts and sewing, flowers, cooking, baking and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time visiting with her family and friends. Aldora was actively involved with the St Paul's Ladies Aid and Columbia Homemakers Club. We will miss the patience she had with all of us, her quick wit, as well as her kindness to all.For the past 3 years, Aldora had lived at McIntosh Manor nursing home. Her family would like to thank everyone there for the good care she received. She passed away there on January 29th, 2007 at the age of 83 years and 7 days from the complications of Parkinsons disease.She is survived by her 4 children. Jerry and his wife Betty of Crystal, MN, Donald and his wife Joyce of Fosston, Judy of Maple Grove, MN and Russell of Fosston, 5 grandchildren: Lonnie Perreault, Julie Sultvedt, Susan Engelhardt, Mike Sultvedt and Jennifer Schwede, Sister-in-law Elva Otness, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Delbert and Leo, an infant sister Etta Laverne and sister-in-law Devona Otness.
