Agnes Solie, age 92, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Friday (September 25th) at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home in McIntosh. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday (October 1st) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday morning at the church. Agnes Johanna Johnson was born on July 15, 1917 in Lessor Township, rural McIntosh, Minnesota to parents Julius and Arnolda (Ulstad) Johnson. She grew up in Lessor Township, attended rural school and graduated from McIntosh High School. She then attended Normal Teacher's Training and beautician's school.Agnes was united in marriage to Alvin Solie on August 9, 1941 in McIntosh. They lived for a short time in Seattle, Washington before returning to the McIntosh area, farming in Hill River Township. In 1955, they moved to town. Agnes had a beauty shop in her home and was also a cook at the high school for 17 years. Alvin passed away on February 15, 1987. After his death, Agnes continued to live at home in McIntosh.Agnes passed away on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the McIntosh Manor Nursing Home at the age of 92 years, two months and 10 days.Survivors include her children, David of Erskine, MN, Diane Peterson of Sun City, AZ, Dan (Mary) of Maplewood, MN, Darryl (Beth) of Rochester, MN, and Delles (Diane) of Owatonna, MN; grandchildren, Stacy, Nate, Heather, Shaleen, Josh, Justin, Brett, Jordan, Jarrett, Krista, and Paige. Great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her parents; and brothers and sisters.
