Agnes Hole, age 100, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Tuesday, March 13th, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, rural Mentor, MN with Father Joe Richards and Father Dave Super concelebrating. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.Agnes Therese Ludwig was born on November 25, 1917 in Bridgewater Township, rural Faribault, Minnesota to parents Michael and Mary Wagner Ludwig. She grew up and attended country school near her home through the eighth grade. After her schooling, Agnes worked in Faribault as a housekeeper and then at Minneapolis Moline in the Twin Cities supporting the war effort during World War II.Agnes was united in marriage to Owen Kenneth Hole on September 27, 1947, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. After their marriage, they moved to Erskine and purchased the Erskine Echo from Kenneth's father, C.P. Hole. In addition to raising her family, Agnes partnered with her husband in the newspaper business for many years. Kenneth passed away on December 25, 1978. Following his passing, she continued to live at her home in Erskine near her family and friends. She eventually sold the business to her son, Rob, and worked there with him writing the News Reports from the Archives section of the Echo. She has been a resident of Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine since April of 2015.She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the Oblates of St. Benedict in Crookston and previously a member of the Minnesota GWFC. She enjoyed playing cards, especially with friends in their Whist Card Club; quilting, sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening and bowling. Agnes passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center at the age of 100 years.Survivors include her two children, Rebecca (Dan) Conway and Rob (Lori) Hole, all of Erskine; four grandchildren, Katie (Scott) Horrigan, Kevin (Summer) Conway, Nicki (Jason) Carlson, and Kristen (Jeremy) Morgenroth; 10 great grandchildren, Ariel, Mitchell, Dylan, Colton, Taggart, Charley, Svea, Addyson, Elyse, and Jaxon. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; five brothers and two sisters and many other friends and relatives.
