Adele (Gunderson) Stenmoen, age 93, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Wednesday, April 12th, at McIntosh Senior Living. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17th, at Vernes Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh, with the Rev. Lee Laavig officiating. Interment will be in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery, McIntosh. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Adele Delores Gunderson was born September 22, 1929, at home near Bejou, MN to Hilmer and Mary (Uhlir) Gunderson. She grew up and went to school in Bejou.
Adele married LeRoy Stenmoen on January 20, 1947, in Mahnomen, MN. The couple made their home in rural McIntosh MN. Adele and LeRoy were blessed with three daughters: Mary Ann born in 1958, Linda born in 1960 and Julie born in 1964.
Adele spent several years as a stay-at-home mother and home maker. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, and cooking several meals for family and friends. The family also enjoyed camping and took several trips in their camper.
When the girls were older Adele started working at McIntosh Manor as a nurse’s aide. She devoted much of her time to her family and to her Church. Her faith was always important to her.
In her golden years Adele enjoyed her many grandchildren and continued baking, canning, gardening and entertaining. She continued to do all that she loved until her health would not allow her to do so.
Adele is survived by her daughters: Mary Ann (William) Senn, Linda (Severet) Egge, and Julie Shimpa. Brother Arnold (Diane) Gunderson. Sister Elaine Cole. Grandchildren: David (Cassie) Senn, Daniel Senn, Kathrine Senn-Howard, Richard Cole, Samantha (Jesse) Pulczinski, Allison (Chris) Cole, Joseph (Jessica) Shimpa, Tiffany (Jonathan) Omundson, Andy (Angela) Shimpa. Great Grandchildren: Seth, Morgan, Bella, Malania, Karl, Ava, Bergen, Chloe, William H, Iris, Miles, Emmett, Ethan, Annika, William S, Scott, Hope, Faith and Krista. Great Great Grandchildren: Natiley, Bristol, Amelia and Everly. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her husband LeRoy, her parents and siblings along with several relatives and friends.
